Jay Craft Center
About Us After discovering a common love for pottery while attending Plattsburgh State University, we have been living and creating pottery in the beautiful Adirondack Mountain region. In our early years, our work was only available at the many craft shows at which we were vendors. As our business grew, we established our studio and craft gallery in the village of Jay, New York. Over the years, our styles and techniques have evolved, but we remain committed to quality craftsmanship in all of our work. Cheri’s focus is on hand-painted designs, which include pinecones, floral motifs, and Adirondack wildlife. Lee specializes in abstract glazing patterns and enjoys working with altered forms. His interests are ever changing, and he is always exploring new aspects of ceramics. Our son Kaiden has also taken up hand-painted designs, concentrating on farm-themed dishware. His hope is to spark children’s love for handmade pottery as it was encouraged in him from a young age. We are also fortunate to be able to work with Lynda Straight, who is a local Jay resident and longtime employee. She began working here as an assistant in the shop, but has now begun to explore her own artistic abilities. Her work has grown to include new floral designs, wall-hanging pockets, ornaments, magnets, and more.
