Vineyard Haven is the Island’s year round seaport where you’ll find many services, including the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. The three shopping neighborhoods in Vineyard Haven are Main Street, Beach Road, and State Rd. Beach Road features Tisbury Market Place where MV Cinema is located, consignment shopping, the beloved island TOY store, and a choice of eateries that cover all bases. As soon as you get off the boat you’ll find the original Black Dog which is now its own Campus with the original bakery & eating tavern on the water and both their General Store & Kids Store. If you miss the Black Dog on the harbor, you have a second chance up on State Road offering more parking, indoor & outdoor seating . Main Street is home to art galleries & jewelers featuring Louisa Gould Art Gallery and the famed CB Stark Jewelers celebrating her 50th year in business. You’ll find creative shopping at multiple clothing boutiques, gift shops, eateries, kitchen supply and home decor that will please every palate. Citrine and Brickyard are not to be missed shops.
The Vineyard Haven Harbor Cultural District promotes arts & culture under one umbrella that Vineyard Haven fulfills with it’s charming walking town, pristine harbor, and the working waterfront. Benjamin & Gannon Marine Railway treats visitors to the ancient art of design & building wooden boats Martha’s Vineyard Shipyard is a full service shipyard that had been servicing historical and contemporary boats for over 150 yrs. The harbor icons are The Black Dog Tall Ships, the Shenandoah and the Alabama where you can take day and sunset cruises. Heading “Up Island “on State Rd. you’ll find Island Cove Adventures which is a great place to take a break , play mini golf or climb the climbing wall while enjoying an ice cream and a burger. Grocery shopping at either The Vineyard Grocer or Cronig’s & Healthy Additions brings consistent high quality, great variety, and helpful staff.
