Where are the best things to do if it’s your first visit?
For a first time visitor, you should visit Sagamore Hill National Historical Park, home to President Theodore Roosevelt. Sagamore Hill is a National Historic Site and is open to the public for tours. Visitors can explore the house and grounds and learn about the life and legacy of one of America’s most beloved presidents.
What is the best time of year to visit?
There are things to do all year round!
Springtime is a great time to walk around Heckscher Park in Huntington. During the Summer months you’ll find plenty of outdoor concerts and local beaches. Fall is great for street fairs and farmers markets. Winter is great for holiday shopping, tree lightings, and events. You can find great dining, shopping, museums any time of year.
What are the best places to stay while visiting?
Oheka Castle, located in Huntington, New York, is a historic castle that has been converted into a luxury hotel. It offers a unique and luxurious experience for guests who are interested in staying in a grand, historic property with modern amenities and high-end services.
I’d also recommend the Hilton in Melville, and the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Huntington.
What is the closest airport to fly into?
You can fly into JFK, LaGuardia, or MacArthur. MacArthur is a great airport. It is small, not crowded, and our maps are available near the baggage area .
