5 of our Favorite Places to Stay in Huntington

Huntington, New York, calls to those seeking a destination within easy reach of Manhattan, but also those who would prefer to stay away from the hubbub of the Big Apple and somewhere a little more low-key. On Long Island, Huntington offers outdoor adventure, historic attractions and plenty of dining and shopping. But, of course, as you enjoy it all, you’ll need a place to stay. Here are five great spots to consider booking for your next trip.

1. Oheka Castle

One look at Oheka Castle and you’ll ask yourself if you’re still on Long Island, or if you’ve somehow been transported to a grand European estate. The historic property, built in 1919, has acted as a playground for the world’s rich and famous, as well as a backdrop for popular movies and television shows. Today, it also acts as a hotel for those lucky enough to snag a room.

Elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites feature estate-style furnishings. During your stay, you’ll be able to take advantage of amenities and activities such as the castle’s library, formal gardens, fitness center, spa services and historic tours.

2. Hampton Inn & Suites Huntington Downtown

For something that’s a little more budget-friendly, but still with its own historic flair, try the Hampton Inn & Suites Huntington Downtown. This central location blends new-build construction with the historic Huntington Town Hall, for the best of both worlds — fresh paint, but also charm from the early 1900s. You’re just a five-minute walk from the downtown theater and a short drive from Huntington’s outdoor attractions, including the beach.

3. Chalet Inn & Suites

Right near the border of Huntington, in Centerport, Chalet Inn & Suites is another budget-friendly option with extra amenities that include free stays for kids under 12, free WiFi and free daily breakfast. If you’re looking for something that’s a bit more suitable for a longer stay, consider one of the suites, with their full-sized kitchens, dining rooms and living rooms. The suites also make a nice option for traveling families who want to dine in occasionally, over the course of their vacations.

4. The Inn at Fox Hollow

Just down the road from Oheka Castle and slightly outside Huntington, The Inn at Fox Hollow is a gorgeous boutique, all-suite hotel. The property offers on-site dining, an outdoor pool and cabanas, a flowering courtyard and even free shuttle service.
