I worked for the State of New York for over 40 years and in 2021 I decided to retire. I have been using Discovery Maps for over 30 years and looked into buying a franchise. I purchased my first franchise, the Discovery Map of Huntington, NY which also covered Oyster Bay. I received a prototype map to use for sales calls. I walked into a boutique in Oyster Bay. The owner started asking why some of the local towns were not included on the map. She said that no one from Oyster Bay goes to Huntington. She got me thinking about having to maps.

Fast forward to 2026. I was approached by the Northport Chamber of Commerce about doing a map for their town. Also, my “home” Chamber of Commerce in Syosset, NY expanded to include Jericho, NY. I decided it was time to “split” my map and to expand my coverage area and purchase a second franchise.

I have been a “map person” since I was a child. It allowed me to explore places and plan trips. I did eventually go on many of these trips. On these trips, I discovered Resort Maps (now Discovery Maps). I found them easy to use and a great resource when I would explore the area.
