The city has numerous hiking and biking trails along the Rio Grande River and in the Sandia Mountains and Sandia Foothills and over a dozen golf courses. The Sandia Peak Ski Area is easily accessed for year-round outdoor activity – biking in the Summer and skiing or snowboarding in the Winter.
