Best Festivals and Events in the Lowcountry and Beaufort SC

A visit to Beaufort is even more lively when these festivals are taking place!

We think the South Carolina Lowcountry is a fun and lively place at any time, but when there’s an event going on, the energy gets amped up a few notches. Besides, if you’re going to visit a “new-to-you” place, why not visit when there’s something extra special going on?

Festivals big and small bring locals and visitors together and they give us a chance to celebrate all the wonderful things that make the Lowcountry unique. There are festivals and events dedicated to local food, art, music, culture and just plain old dancing in the streets from Spring through Fall! So be sure to pack your “Dancin’ Shoes!” Some festivals are all about having fun and reveling in silliness, like the Water Festival’s Annual Shrimp Race… (no kidding) …you won’t see a celebration like that anywhere else, we promise.

But, more than anything, these annual events are a chance for people to get together and simply have a good time. You are welcome to spectate and take photos of the fun or join in and be a part of the festivities. For information on what each event offers, please go to www.beaufortsc.org
