Are you ready to put your sleuthing skills to the test? Discovery Map® invites you to participate in our “Where’s the Map Geek?” contest! Search for our elusive Map Geek character hidden on participating Discovery Maps, snap some photos, and you could win a $100 gift card!

Here’s how to play:

How to Enter the “Where’s the Map Geek?” Contest

  1. Find the Map Geek:
    While exploring a participating Discovery Map®, keep your eyes peeled for the Map Geek character. She could be doing anything—skiing, biking, walking her dog—it’s up to you to spot her.
  1. Snap a Photo:
    Once you’ve found her, take a clear picture of the Map Geek on the map. This will serve as proof that you’ve found her!
  2. Show Us Your Map Adventure:
    Include a selfie or action shot of you using the map in your destination. Whether you’re exploring charming downtowns or hiking scenic trails, we want to see you enjoying the adventure.
  3. Submit Your Sighting:
    Head to the contest submission page and fill out the entry form. Be sure to attach your photos and provide all required details, including:

    • Your name, email, and phone number
    • The specific Discovery Map® where you found the Map Geek
    • Your awesome photos!
  4. Enter Monthly for More Chances to Win:
    You can submit one entry per destination map each calendar month. So, the more maps you explore, the better your chances to win!

Examples of Strong Entries

To give you an edge, here are examples of what we’re looking for:

1. A Clear Photo of the Map Geek:

  • Make sure the Map Geek character is visible and easy to spot in your photo.
  • Pro tip: Double-check your map to ensure you’ve captured the right character.

2. A Fun, Personal Action Shot:

  • Show yourself using the map at your destination. We love seeing happy explorers enjoying their travels!
  • Be creative—pose in front of a landmark, hold your map up while standing by a scenic view, or snap a candid shot of your travel buddies.

Important Contest Rules

Before entering, make sure you’re aware of the following:

  • Photo Requirements:
    • Upload two photos: one of the Map Geek character on the Discovery Map® and one of you enjoying the map in use.
    • By submitting your photos, you grant Discovery Map® the rights to use them on our website and social media.
  • One Entry Per Map, Per Month:
    • You can submit one entry per participating destination map each calendar month.
  • Newsletter Subscription:
    • Entrants will be subscribed to the Discovery Map® email newsletter. You may unsubscribe at any time.
  • Deadline:
    • Entries must be submitted by the last day of each calendar month to qualify for that month’s contest.
