Jessie and Gabe Nelson are the community-minded duo behind Discovery Map O'ahu.
Residents of the North Shore and parents to two wild boys, they are entrepreneurs on a mission to celebrate the local businesses that make the island's heart beat.
Gabe first landed on O'ahu in 2011 with the Coast Guard, and Jessie followed in 2014 for massage therapy school. It didn't take long for the island's magic to take hold—they soon decided to make Hawai'i their permanent home, choosing O'ahu as the place to build their lives and raise their family. From managing local farmers' markets to building deep-rooted relationships within the small business community, they have spent years exploring every corner of the island.
For the Nelsons, this isn't just a business; it’s personal. They pride themselves on connecting visitors with the authentic character of the island they love. Their mission is simple: to provide real exposure for O'ahu’s unique local gems by putting a curated, hand-drawn map into the hands of every traveler.
