Beginners are welcome and encouraged. Movement is slow, postures are developed gradually and incrementally, so that every body finds its optimum expression. Focus is on riding the wave of the breath. Movement is married to the breath to create a moving meditation. The class is held on soft sand. Each class ends with time for relaxation. Kripalu Yoga on the beach will leave you with a deep sense of serenity, accomplishment and joy.

Begin your day with a loving kindness Kripalu yoga class that integrates breathing/pranayama, asana/postures, relaxation, and meditation; on Cape Cod's most beautiful Atlantic ocean beach.

Each day is different; wind, fog, surf, heat or cooling breezes, the unpredictable. Seals have been known to watch class or you may hear their song in the distance. Seagulls, children, the smell of salt and beach roses, rolling clouds emphasize the wonder of each moment in this truly unique location.

You will have fun, you will learn, and you will have an opportunity to cultivate awareness throughout the body. There is a particular emphasis on the six movements of the spine - undulating back & forth, undulating side to side, and twisting. A consistent practice of this nature changes posture, relieves pain, helps to prevent injury, allows for longer seated meditation practice and creates a sense of walking tall with comfort and ease.

The class is designed to accommodate all levels of yogis/yoginis from beginners to regular practitioners through the offering of modifications and the invitation to take care of self in any way that is needed. Kripalu yoga is non-competitive, non-judgmental; loving and accepting.

The class format varies from day to day. Classes are held in soft sand. Class is cancelled when it is raining. Class is held on foggy and misty mornings.
