About Tommy Dixon Collections and the Cook's Nook
Tom Peters and Ron Baird owned a bed & breakfast in Rehoboth Beach, DE for eight years, wintering on Sanibel, FL to get away from the freezing storms along the Atlantic coast. In 2004, the duo decided to move to southwest Florida full-time and open some sort of a gallery or gift shop.
At about the same time, Pam Rambo wanted to devote more time to her art and get out of the gallery business. It was a match made in heaven, with everyone getting what they most wanted. After the hurricanes of 2004 and 2005 they decided to relocate the shop to Cape Cod and close the Sanibel location.
The collection retains many of the original artists. “We really like to focus on functional art, mostly hand-made functional art,” said Tom when talking about the gallery. “Everything here has a purpose beyond being beautiful,” he said. Partner Ron Baird added, “We really enjoy making the gallery fun and colorful with a specific goal of making it affordable, too!”
Cooks' Nook: Kitchen supplies and implements with an emphasis on the home cook. Tools, gadgets, cookbooks, bar accessories, etc. galore. Life Is What You Bake It.
