When you think of Daytona Beach, what do you imagine? A spring break-ready vacay destination? Race cars? Biker rallies? Well, while Daytona Beach may be known for a variety of things, you may be surprised to find that this northern Florida destination is quite family-friendly and affordable, too. Plus, there are some great spots to eat while you’re exploring the area.
No matter what your reason for visiting Daytona Beach, here are five places to eat while you’re in town.
Every beach vacation requires a few seafood feasts. At The Crab Stop, you can enjoy your crab cooked a plethora of ways. The bib restaurant encourages you to dig in with both hands, serving up delicious seafood in mammoth portions. Don’t quite care for your garlic crabs, snow crabs, live blue crabs or even Maryland-style crabs? Don't worry. The restaurant also offers other seafood favs like shrimp and fried catfish.

For more crabby goodness, visit Crabby’s Oceanside, located just steps from the water. Outdoor dining, live music and a casual atmosphere make this restaurant a great pick for a delicious dinner after a day spent on the beach. The menu includes a huge variety of all sorts of seafood, from conch fritters to oysters, clam chowder to fried grouper. For those who don’t care for seafood, other options range from wings to burgers.

But your beachside dining doesn't necessarily need to be all about the seafood. Daytona Beach offers other options, such as the Mexican fare found at Don Pepper’s Mexican Grill and Cantina. Find all your Mexican favorites here, from street corn and queso to quesadillas and enchiladas.

Of course, you’ll want something to beat the heat at some point during your trip. What better way to cool off than with a tasty ice cream cone? Neighbors General Store Ice Cream Parlor has you covered with delicious options made fresh using Florida milk, pure cane sugar and small-batch ingredients chopped, baked or brewed on-site.

Situated right on the scenic A1A, it's your place to go for homemade apple fritters, Belgian waffles, omelets and other breakfast staples.
