Jeff Willis purchased Cocoa Beach, Cocoa Village and the Melbourne Beach and Melbourne Downtown Discovery Maps in June 2022 and the Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach Discovery Maps in October 2023.  In June of 2024, he expanded once again by acquiring the St. Augustine | Jacksonville Beaches map!

Owning and operating the 5 maps in East Central Florida gives Jeff and his team one of the broadest, yet focused, perspectives on tourism within the area.

When his first Cocoa Beach editions were sold out and printed, Jeff and his then fiancée Andrea moved from Buffalo, NY to the Space Coast in time to meet the delivery truck with nearly a half million maps!  They now call Florida home after visiting as a tourist for years!

Jeff has had a successful career as an executive in the commercial audio and video industry and has prior experience in wholesale technology products distribution. In both industries, he led diverse digital and print marketing strategies which successfully drove growth for his customers. Prior, jeff spent time in broadcasting.  After researching several business opportunities and Discovery Map markets, Jeff chose the Melbourne and Cocoa Beach markets to establish his business. Both the Melbourne and Cocoa maps have been published in the past and have a long history of success on the Space Coast. On the heels of the success of those two maps, the Daytona, New Smyrna Beach and St. Augustine | Jacksonville Beaches maps were the next logical step.

“Our goal is to first take care of the existing advertisers and build on their success, and second, aim to attract new advertisers and welcome them to the family,” said Willis. “We will work tirelessly to make sure that our printed maps are available in hundreds of locations in each market, all year long, and that advertisers’ messages are also optimized digitally.

Discovery Maps are colorful, hand-drawn maps that have become a favorite of travelers for navigating local dining, attractions, businesses, cultural experiences, and tourist destinations.

“As much as we rely on technology, people love fun printed maps when vacationing,” said Willis. “However, Discovery Map also has a strong digital presence that works hand in hand with the printed map and brings even more value to advertisers. The printed and digital maps are genuinely like works of art and reveal the character of an area... and all four destinations have plenty of that to go along with the natural beauty of the rivers, parks, and beaches along the Atlantic Ocean.”

While continuing to build and foster the growth of companies in the technology space, Willis has also led the relationship building, strategy and marketing efforts for start-ups to large public companies. His passion for Florida, that he shares with his now wife [they were married in Florida in April 2023], Andrea, has resulted in making his purchase of Discovery Map of Melbourne, Discovery Map of Cocoa Beach, Discovery Map of New Smyrna Beach, Discovery Map of Daytona Beach and Discovery Map of St. Augustine | Jacksonville Beaches a logical part of his portfolio.
