Capitol Grounds has been roasting coffee since its beginning in 1998.  It is our mission to find the highest quality arabica coffees from around the world, and roast them to perfection.  We roast our coffee to order in small batches, ensuring that it is always fresh roasted, bringing you the best cup of coffee available anywhere.

The Cafe on State Street in Montpelier Vermont serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and has an exhibition space for the area's talented artists. The Cafe features our own Capitol Grounds fresh roasted coffee, a wide variety of teas, local draft beers, wine, pastries, soups and sandwiches. Thursday & Friday evenings you'll find us open later, providing a relaxed atmosphere with live entertainment appropriate for all age groups. 

Capitol Grounds is a Certified Organic coffee roaster (NOFA, VOF).  We also carry a wide range of Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance coffees.  Capitol Grounds is committed to environmental, economic, and social responsibility from the farm to your cup.  We are always looking for new ways to bring you the best coffee available, while doing everything we can to help make the world a better place.    

Since 1998 we have provided a place for both locals and visitors to pause, relax, and experience the character and appeal of the city.
